MAINTENANCE # 1 - Check and change engine oil

I have not done this repair yet, so this is just what I expect the repair to entail. I will post more detailed instructions when I actually perform the repair. 1. get the bike up to operating temperature. 2. get whatever it is you're going to drain the engine oil into (preferably one of those things that has a screen over the hole the oil drains into) and your tools. 3. Park the bike on its center stand on a level surface. 4. Position the oil drain under the oil drain plug (see picture). 5. Open the oil drain plug (NOTE: Be careful with the sealing rubber O-ring under the drain plug. Any damage to it will probably cause a small leak). 6. Let the oil drain for around 15 minutes. 7. Close the drain plug (careful not to over-tighten!) 8. Open the oil filler (dipstick hole...see picture). 9. Pour in approximately 0.8 of a quart of 10w-30 oil (NOTE: this measurement has not been verified! Be careful not to overfill!). 10.Wipe the dipstick off, put the dipstick back in. 11. Pull the dipstick back out, the oil line should be halfway up the dipstick. 12. Put the dipstick back in.

MAINTENANCE # 1 - Check and change gear oil

Again, I have not done this repair yet, so this is just what I expect the repair to entail. I will post more detailed instructions when I actually perform the repair. Note that this repair requires a turkey baster or something similar. 1. get the bike up to operating temperature. 2. get whatever it is you're going to drain the oil into (preferably one of those things that has a screen over the hole the oil drains into) and your tools. 3. Park the bike on its center stand on a level surface. 4. Position the oil drain under the gear oil drain plug (see picture). 5. Open the gear oil drain plug 6. Let the gear oil drain for around 15 minutes. 7. Close the gear oil drain plug (careful not to overtighten!) 8. You're going to need a turkey baster or something similar to refill the gear oil. 9. Open the gear oil fill plug (see picture) 10. Using the turkey baster, suck up and squirt 10w-40 oil into the gear hole fill hole until quite a bit of it overflows out of the fill hole. 11. Wait a couple of minutes and let the oil flow out of the fill hole. 12. when the oil flowing out of the fill hole slows down to a very slow trickle (may take a few minutes or so), put the gear oil fill plug back in (careful not to overtighten).
